Mad skills, very impressive, indeed an effortless style. Its a shame you were taken from us, rest in peace Beau. I like it, i think it will work. i would also add a soft material like a rubber coat to the inner of the sleeves somehow, so that they themselves dont rub if they stop an impact. I think with a good enough interface to attach on the top and bottom, this would work great.

i do pedal slides when i ride street and and the skatepark so its the sensible option for me, PLASTIC. this pic is already out-dated, ill post up a new one of what it looks like now, way crazier! what frame is that? 
you could do all gold if you had the frameset.
